  • About 1.1 million persons in the United States were living with HIV/AIDS in 2006 (CDC).
  • CDC estimates that 19 million sexually transmitted infections (STIs) occur each year, with half occurring in 15 to 24 year olds (CDC).
  • About half of US high school students have ever had sexual intercourse, and 15% of high school students had had four or more sex partners during their life (CDC).
