This systematic review by the Guide to Community Preventive Services (Community Guide) of the effectiveness of selected population-based interventions addressing diabetes focused on strategies within two areas:

  1. Health-care system level interventions promoting disease and case management; and
  2. Diabetes self-management education in various settings.
